Eligibility For B.Ed. Entrance

Candidates with at least 50% Marks either in Bachelor's degree and/or in the Master's degree in Science/ Social Sciences/ Humanities/ Commerce/Home Science/ B.B.A/ B.C.A/ B.A.LL.B/ B.Com.LL.B/ B.Tech./BE , or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for B.Ed. Entrance Test: 2019 in the B.Ed. Colleges at Chandigarh (UT).

There shall be a relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/BC candidates. Candidate with less than 45% marks belonging to these categories shall not be eligible for B.Ed. Entrance Test: 2019 in the B.Ed. Colleges at Chandigarh (UT).

Admission to the B.Ed. Course is subject based. The Teaching Subjects are to be selected by the candidate on the basis of the subjects studied by him/her at Bachelor's /Master's level.

UT Pool Quota (60%)

60% seats out of total seats shall be filled from amongst the students who have completed their qualifying exams (Graduation with 50% marks) from colleges come under Chandigarh (UT) only as regular students. It means candidate should be graduated from colleges come under Chandigarh fall under UT pool Quota (60%).

General Pool Quota (40%)

40% seats out of total seats shall be filled from amongst the students who have passed their graduation from colleges outside Chandigarh City. It means candidates who have passed graduate from any other state except Chandigarh fall under General Pool Quota (40%).

Preparation of Merit List

The Merit list will be prepared in following manner:

  • The minimum qualifying marks in B.Ed.-CET-2019 for B.Ed. colleges at Chandigarh (UT) will be 25% for General Category students and 20% for SC/ST candidates.
